Dodgers Prospects: 25 Minor Leaguers Are Released

Heartbreaking news

It was first reported by @tombaseball19 that the Dodgers released 25 players. This is not news we report on unless we are absolutely positive. After scouring the Minor League Baseball transactions wire (links are on our links page) I found that the sad news was true. Here is a the list of all the players released and from which minor league team they were released from.

OKC Dodgers

Tulsa Drillers

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

Great Lakes Loons

Ogden Raptors

Arizona Dodgers

It is not known if they are getting paid for July and August like the rest of the minor leaguers are that remain in the Dodgers organization. Some of these players were non-roster invitees to Spring Training 1.0. I could see a scenario where someone like Casey Crosby is invited onto another team’s list of 60 pool players.

All in all, it is disappointing to see these players released and we can only hope they find a better opportunity. These are rough times and now it becomes rougher for these 25 gentlemen. God bless them and their families as they move on.
