Dodgers Prospects: Edwin Uceta To Make Spring Debut, Also DJ Peters to Start

Uceta to pitch in first game of Spring and Peters Starting First Two

At 12:05 Pacific Standard Time on February 28th, we will have our first Spring Training game of 2021. I absolutely love this time of the year as we get the opportunity to see baseball and a lot of playing time for our prospects. With all the Spring Training games televised on SportsNet LA (and assuming also available on the MLB App) we should be able to get an eyeful of many of the prospects we write and talk about. It is time to get fired up!

My Dodgers Nation compadre, Clint Pasillas, had some excellent news for us regarding two of our major prospects, Edwin Uceta and DJ Peters. We don’t have a complete list of who is pitching in the first game but we do know Edwin Uceta will make an appearance early in the game. There is no doubt in my mind that we’ll see another pitching prospect or two after Uceta.

It was great to see Dave Roberts talk so well about DJ Peters. Peters has a ton of natural talent and needs repetitions. He has had some issues with contact but I am hoping his hard work pays off. The Dodgers are in need of right-handed power at the plate and Peters has that market cornered.

Take a look at the athletic ability of the 6’6″ Peters. He can be a dynamic player on both sides of the ball.

Final Thoughts

I cannot wait for the first Spring Training game as the Dodgers begin their defense of their 2020 World Championship. We get to see our returning players, the new acquisitions, and the prospects we will continue to write about. Here we go!
