Dodgers Prospects: July 15, 2022 Wrap Up; Ryan Ward, Gaige Howard, Jefferson Valladares

OKC Dodgers

The Dodgers lost 7-3. Jason Martin continues to crush homers as he hit a two-run blast for his 19th home run and 63rd RBI. Jacob Amaya also had 2 hits.

Note: Miguel Vargas did not play since he is in Los Angeles for the Futures Game. Bobby Miller and Diego Cartaya are also there.

 

Tulsa Drillers

The Drillers held on to win 6-4. Ryan Ward hit a 2-run home run for his 21st of the season and had 3 RBI. Jonny DeLuca stays hot with 2 hits, including a triple. Guillermo Zuniga pitched a clean 9th inning, with 2 Ks to get his 9th save.

Great Lakes Loons

The Loons game was postponed. They will play a doubleheader on July 16th.

Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

The Quakes won the ultimate back and forth game, 15-14. Luis Diaz drove in the walk-off run witha single, his 3rd hit and 5th RBI. Damon Keith continues to be a machine with 4 more RBI. Gaige Howard hit his first professional home run while Jake Vogel continues to be on fire as he went 4 for 6.

River Ryan (the player the Dodgers got for Matt Beaty) rebounded from his last start with 4 innings on the mound, giving up 5 hits, 1 run, zero walks, and struck out 4.

ACL Dodgers

The ACL Dodgers lost 12-3. 3B Andy Espinosa hit a homer for the 2nd game in a row and this one was a 2-run shot. He ended up with two hits and now has an OPS of 1.045. Fran Castro was a bright spot on the mound as he went 1.2 innings with 3 Ks and gave up nothing else. Catcher Thayron Liranzo also had 2 hits and now has an OPS of .844. One last player with two hits was Jorge Puerta who played LF and also has an OPS of 1.058.

DSL Mega and Bautista

Team Mega won 13-7 and Team Bautista won 6-1. There was a lot of offense for Team Mega led by C Jefferson Valladares who had 3 hits and 4 RBI. Keep an eye on him as he has an OPS of 1.093 on the season so far. Just another catching prospect stud for the Dodgers? DH (and also a catcher) Miguel Dominguez went 2 for 3 with his 2nd home run on the season. He has an OPS of .895. 17-year-old CF Edwin Sanchez had 3 hits including a double. SS Natanael Castillo also had 3 hits.

For Team Bautista, 20-year-old Ugandan, Ben Serunkuma, went 2 innings. He gave up 2 hits, no runs, no walks, and K’d 3. Jhonny Jimenez also went 2 innings, giving up 1 hit, no runs, 1 walk, and 2 Ks. Ugandan catcher Umar Male, hit a 3-run homer, his first. 3B Oswaldo Osorio went 2 for 2.
