Dodgers Spring Training Prospects Highlights: James Outman, Nick Robertson, DJ Peters, Michael Busch

Game 3 of Spring Training

The third Spring Training game for the Dodgers was against the Giants. In the starting lineup were prospects Sheldon Neuse and James Outman with Nick Robertson and Alex Vesia scheduled to pitch. This article will spotlight prospects who made significant impacts during the game.

In the bottom of the first inning, Walker Buehler was on the mound and he wasn’t quite up to his standards. Fortunately, James Outman was manning centerfield in the first inning and made a couple of excellent catches to keep the Giants off the board.

He then made another great catch in the 6th inning. No doubt, James Outman can play some center field. In the 7th inning, Outman followed up with a game-tying line-drive double to tie the game. What a great impression! Just as an FYI, I was able to interview Outman in 2018 after his first professional season.

In the 5th inning, Nick Robertson took the mound for the first time this pre-season and dominated.

Rising prospect Michael Busch entered the game in the 7th inning as a pinch hitter. He promptly doubled on a line drive to center field. The swing is beautiful. If I find a video I will update this spot and post it to Twitter (@dodgers2080). UPDATE: found a video:

This was another great exhibition of more Dodgers prospects as they tie the Giants 1-1. They play on Wednesday, March 3rd at 5:05 PM PST against the Reds. It will be available on TV and the MLB App.
